DUTY OF THE POLICE ~ THE LAW IS ON OUR SIDE.

The essential part of the oath and function of every Police Officer is "WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR, MALICE OR ILL-WILL, TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY AND TO UPHOLD THE LAW".

If you doubt this fact, simply and politely ask any Police Officer these two questions:

1) "What would you do if you saw a threat to Life or Property?"
~ the answer will be words to the effect that "I would do my best to prevent that threat, and if I couldn't deal with it by myself, I would call for assistance"

2) "What would you do if you saw a breach of the Law?"
~ the answer will be similar words to the effect that "I would do my best to prevent that breach of the Law, and if I couldn't deal with it by myself, I would call for assistance"

Most people, including the vast majority of Police Officers, will agree that the threat of Environmental Damage and Destruction is a "REAL AND PRESENT THREAT TO LIFE AND PROOPERTY" which is at least AS SERIOUS AS A THREAT OF WAR (for most people on the Earth, the threat of war is not a "real and present threat").

In terms of Law, billions of us are going to work every day to support ourselves and our families, KNOWING that the work we are doing is Damaging and Destroying our common environment. This is causing injury to ourselves, our families, AND OUR NEIGHBOURS, on the scale of a threat of war . . . (see "MORTGAGE CONTRACT").

So we can argue that THE MOST SERIOUS THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY, AND THE MOST SERIOUS BREACH OF THE LAW, ARE BOTH DUE TO CRIMINAL ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE AND DESTRUCTION.

Hence:

1) In order to perform their main function, EVERY PROFESSIONAL POLICE OFFICER must become an active environmental campaigner.

2) every "reasonable, prudent, well-intentioned" active environmental campaigner is upholding the most essential part of the oath and function of every Police Officer.

Our government claims to be in favour of law and order.

When there are jobs which benefit our environment instead of destroying it we will all feel much better and there will be much less crime as a result.
